I am a quantitative ecologist with an interest in spatial ecology and population dynamics. During my PhD, completed at the Inland University of Norway and in collaboration with the SKANDULV, I linked these two components using the Scandinavian wolf population as a case study. I am currently a half-time researcher with the AEQG  team project at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences. I spend the other half of my time at CEFE(CNRS) at Montpellier (France) working in collaboration with the OFB.

I mostly worked on research questions that involve large carnivores, especially wolves, brown bears and wolverines. Most of these questions have some implications for their  conservation and management.

In a few words, we are developing methods to estimate how many brown bears, wolverines and wolves are present in Sweden and Norway. This will help us identifying the drivers causing fluctuations in their population size, and inform conservation and management actions accordingly. In addition, we evaluate current and past monitoring to design monitoring scenarios maximizing the trade-off between cost and efficiency. See the project (RovQuant) for an example of the questions we are working on.
